KITCHEN CABINETS & KITCHEN TAPS: HOW TO ELEVATE YOUR BESPOKE KITCHEN DESIGN

When kitchen cabinets and taps are carefully considered together, they form the foundation of a kitchen that is both functional and beautiful.

Cabinets and taps are key design details in your kitchen, and updating these details is one of the most effective ways to transform your kitchen into a premium space.

A thoughtfully designed new kitchen can increase the value of your home by up to 7%.

At Cwtch Haus, we believe that your kitchen is the heart of your home, and we are devoted to every detail of your kitchen design.

In this blog, we will explore how to choose your kitchen cabinets and taps, and how these elements can work together to truly elevate your bespoke kitchen design.

HOW TO CHOOSE KITCHEN CABINETS

Choosing the right kitchen cabinets is one of the most important decisions in any kitchen design.

Start by considering how you use your kitchen. Do you need generous storage, or are you dreaming of the perfect pantry cupboard? Or perhaps you would like a kitchen island with integrated storage?

At Cwtch Haus, we will thoughtfully plan your cabinetry to maximise your space and provide all the storage solutions you need.

Cabinet material and finish are key design elements when choosing kitchen cabinets.

If your home is styled with a traditional farmhouse or country-style aesthetic, you might like to consider our beautiful solid wood in-frame cabinet styles, which offer warmth and character.

Alternatively, if you prefer a minimalistic kitchen aesthetic, you might appreciate a contemporary pared-back cabinetry style, as shown here in our Y Rhath project.

When choosing your kitchen cabinets, your most important choice of all is colour.

The colour of your cabinetry will set the overall tone for your kitchen and will influence how your kitchen flows with the rest of your home.

Dramatic colours might need extra consideration to ensure they don’t clash with the colour palette of your home.

Lighter hues create a sense of calm and space, while darker shades add depth and drama, as demonstrated in our Heol Y Priory kitchen design.

In our Templeton Farmhouse project, we incorporated in-frame cabinetry paired with a rustic bridge tap over a farmhouse sink, creating a bespoke and timeless farmhouse look.

CURVED KITCHEN CABINETS

Curved kitchen cabinets are a continuing trend for 2026, and for good reason, too.

When designing your bespoke kitchen, the addition of curved cabinets can truly elevate the look and feel of your kitchen. Curved cabinets bring a visual softness to your kitchen and create a feeling of flow.

Offering a softer, more fluid alternative to traditional straight-line cabinetry, curved cabinets create a sense of movement, making the kitchen feel more intuitive to move around.

Kitchen islands, corner units, and feature cabinets all lend themselves very well to curved cabinetry.

You can view a stunning example of curved kitchen cabinets in our Upper Haythog Farm kitchen project.

HOW TO CHOOSE A KITCHEN TAP

When choosing a kitchen tap, it is important to balance style with functionality while considering all of your daily kitchen needs.

Do you need a standard tap, a boiling water tap, or a pull-out spray tap?

What sort of material and finish would you like? Stainless steel, matte black, patinated brass, polished chrome, rose copper, or how about gold? A gold tap set against a backdrop of black cabinetry can create an ultra chic look, as shown in our Heol Y Priory project.

At Cwtch Haus, we only source taps from industry-leading brands, including Quooker.

Often described as “the tap that does it all”, a Quooker boiling water tap provides instant hot water alongside filtered, chilled, still and sparkling water

Whether you are looking for a rustic bridge tap to reinforce your traditional kitchen aesthetic, or a boiling water tap to provide instant hot water for your morning tea, our kitchen designers will help you to choose a tap which supports your lifestyle and contrasts beautifully with your new cabinetry.
